Orthodontics by Gables Exceptional Dentistry
Orthodontics is the practice of using oral appliances to straighten and align teeth. Most commonly this practice uses braces to move teeth into proper position so that they look and function properly. At Gables Exceptional Dentistry, we offer orthodontic solutions that help: children, teens and adult achieve a straight, stable and beautiful smile with the treatment being tailored to each patient's lifestyle and personal preferences. Our state of the art appliances include ceramic braces, clear braces, the Damon bracket system and Invisalign.
Ceramic "Tooth Colored" Braces- Ceramic braces use translucent brackets that blend in with your natural tooth color. This system is one of our most popular because it is more esthetically pleasing than traditional braces. Ceramic braces are designed to resist staining and discoloration over long periods of time.
Clear Braces- Clear braces are nearly see-through because they use brackets that are made of monocrystalline sapphire. The only part that is visible on these devices is the thin arch wire. Next to Invisalign, these are the closest thing to invisible braces.
Metal Braces- Otherwise known as traditional braces, they are our most economical, yet very effective system. At Gables Exceptional Dentistry we use the smallest and most effective bracket system for your comfort and ease of maintenance.
Damon Bracket- The Damon System utilizes smaller brackets with built in "sliding doors" to hold the wire in. This results in greater comfort, needing no elastics, and usually resulting in shorter treatment times.
Interceptive and Early Treatment Orthodontics- Early evaluation, usually no later than age 7, provides timely detection of problems and a greater opportunity for more effective and less invasive treatment. Once the first adult molars have erupted, age 7, it is critical that the bite be evaluated and intervention started if necessary to properly guide the remaining dentition.
Advantages of Early Treatment
- Create room for crowded, erupting teeth
- Reduce the risk of trauma to front teeth
- Preserve space for un erupted teeth
- Reduce the need for extractions
- Reduce treatment time with braces
Orthodontic treatment not only improves the esthetics of a smile, orthodontic treatment improves and corrects bad bites which affect the way you smile, chew, clean and the way you feel about yourself.
